Was he the Martian Manhunter at one point? I don’t see a need to change him. So Durlan trapped in human form, I think he was.

No, I don’t think he was. He was time displaced from the 20th century at one point though. I know a lot of people at the time thought making him Cham’s father was weird, but I think it was a genius, out in left field kind of move.

I have previously read was that the original plan for RJ Brande was that he would be the Martian Manhunter, who had lived up to the 30th century. The plan was ditched before it was revealed, though.
