Actually, you can if you are in Europe or the UK. They have GDPR protecting them. We need that too in the US, but will only get it if we unite and keep after our representatives. Throwing up our hands is the death of democracy.

Please consider sending whatever political commentary or concern you post here to your representatives. That is how democracy works. Your representatives are not reading your social media. Tell them how you feel, what you think, and what you fear.

Spread this far and wide. It tells you what you CAN do to thwart Meta's generative AI. It's not an easy fix. I didn't do the work for you. Democracy is fucking hard. But it's what we've got to fight for our intellectual property rights.

This is what I wrote a few weeks ago when I discovered Meta was harvesting my intellectual property for generative AI because they think it's "good for humanity." They can absolutely get fucked.

Now you're talking! That, and possibly a class action lawsuit. Right now, we are waiting to see what the copyright lawsuit outcome is with OpenAI and the authors. If the authors win, then we have precedent.

To be clear, you're not protecting your intellectual property from generative AI with this form. It's just "personal information" such as your birthdate, etc. Only in the UK can you actually opt out of generative AI.

I was disappointed, too, when I went through this a couple of months ago. We need protections like they have in the UK. We are too vulnerable to betrayals like this.

Sorry, but this doesn't protect your intellectual property such as photos and words. This is just "personal information," which is defined by them as your birthdate, etc. Only in the UK can you actually opt out of generative AI.

Godzilla Minus One is a fantastic example of one character on the hero's journey while the other one is on the heroine's journey. They both work together beautifully to achieve an end.
