Well the good(?) (ish?) news is that a ton of the axis got wiped out by the winter storm in ‘21. I haven’t known axis to have the same suicidal tendency as white tails when it comes to cars, though, so I’m surprised by that part.

Basically that it’s going to make it much more difficult to confirm a plan, and therefore much less likely that any victims will actually be able to recover anything (or that any recovery will be equitable among victims).

Google maps thought the bridge on a state highway was out (it had just reopened a couple of days before) so it sent my coworker on a long winding road along farm-to-market and county roads until he ended up on a dirt road at a low water crossing of the same river that washed the bridge out.

It can be appealed to SCOTUS but only after it goes to NY State’s highest court and only to argue that the conviction violates the US Constitution in some way (as opposed to NY law)
