And I’m super concerned about how these extended heat domes are going to affect people’s finances. My upcoming PG&E bill is projected to be $500+. Older building. No central air. Two window units (upstairs) and a portable ac downstairs (set at 82).

Another argument hampering "electrify everything" - my local reddit is full of people wanting to keep gas stoves/water heaters/etc. to control bills. I'm making a couple of bucks back participating in a virtual power plant through this heat wave but it's not the same.
