My Appalachian grandmother and great grandmother were diligent about etiquette and housekeeping. Manners are free, as they would say. I’m incensed when JD acts like poor Appalachians are basically feral.

Amen, my momma always told us you dont need money to have Class, and Ill be goddamned if she wasnt right. We're not feral, we're forgotten until they need something from us.

The thing is, even if poor Appalachians were inherently feral, lazy, and slovenly like he suggests, that would still be morally preferable to being JD Vance.
