From my conversations, they'd take full funding in a heartbeat. Not knowing what their budget is quarter to quarter, as it depends on how much they manage to fundraise is not fun.

That would be a terrible idea. The FENZ and Ambulance service models are very, very different. The merger of rural and urban fire has been a clusterfuck. Merging ambulance in would be much worse.

No LLMs are not good at generating code, unless it is extremely basic, and even then they often generate bad code. I've tried copilot and code whisperer and had to turn them off as they suggest code that doesn't work with enough regularity that they are far more of a hindrance than help.

But what these AI companies are doing is not producing aggregations, analyses, etc. I'd say that it's more comparable to sampling in music, and if sampling a few seconds of a song breaches copyright, then what these AI companies are doing certainly would seem to be.

I presume the argument for copyright infringement will be similar to why you can't make your own marvel comics using their characters. In that sense, possibly it is. Particularly given that the resulting work looks like existing work and is being used to make money.
