I am not a lawyer but my issue would be that why the fuck would I count on Trump to actually keep his word. He's not exactly known for it, and he doesn't actually know me. He isn't going to feel any personal obligation to follow through with the pardon.

In 1995 my grandmother's best friend was murdered in her home in Queens by a 16 year old who smashed her skull with a hammer while she lay in her bed before stealing her purse, a necklace, and her rosary beads. This year he was released from prison. I don't know how to feel about that.

It's very odd to me that I've never seen An American Tail streaming on any service. You can buy or rent it off Amazon or Google, but it doesn't stream anywhere. Who owns the rights to it now, anyway?

There definitely are people like that. Sorry, it's a sore spot for me because blowing veterans with support jobs off as a "you didn't really serve" thing is something you see a lot in the combat arms guys who do lean MAGA/conservative, the exact group you're trying to condemn with this statement.

Oof Faine, this one is loaded because until recently combat arms was closed off to women, so a lot of women veterans are things like file clerks. It's also a very common job for POC people wanting transferable job skills. The common disdain for "file clerks" is very linked to that.

The thing about Lolita is when you reread it, you realize that Nabokov hides Dolores' ultimate fate in the foreword. I don't know if most people skip the foreword or what, but I don't get how people can reread that book and not get that the story of Lolita is the story of a man destroying a child.

Every time I went up in rank in the military it seemed like the percentage of people who had a family member with a severe disability was higher. They were staying in longer because the health insurance was more affordable.

There are certainly a lot of people who lean conservative in the military, and there definitely are some MAGA folk, but I've found that people consistently underestimate how many POC, immigrants, and LGBT people work in the military. A lot of people with disabled family members as well.

Gentrification is traditionally about outside money coming in and taking over a neighborhood or town, being anti-gentrification is not supposed to be anti-revitalization by the people and stakeholders who are already active in the community.

"Fun" hypothetical is if the president gives you an order to conduct an illegal action, can you still be prosecuted under UCMJ or local laws for completing that action?
