There'd be criminal charges today. Slapping, smacking, pulling hair (boys), yelling, lots of sadistic, humiliating verbal stuff. One of my friends was called on once, stood up, couldn't answer. The nun was reaming her out so abusively, she fainted & slammed her head on my desk on the way down.

Wow, you could have gone to the same school as my friends. One had a sister who fainted while being forced to stand in cafeteria in front of older kids...
