If they’re any adult age, they care about being kicked of health insurance or having the price double. It’s not that saving the Dept of Ed isn’t a goal. It’s not a goal that makes a swing voter vote, and it crowds out the issues that motivate them. 2

Voters on the margins don’t care about saving the Department of Education. They don’t know what it is or what it does. If they’re 55, they care about slashing social security or having to work until 70. If they’re a 28-year-old woman, they care about forced birth. 1/

That’s information flooding and literally ignores everything that motivates the voters we needs on the margins in swing states. Liberals have got to stop confusing the esoterica of policy we want with how we talk to regular people who might vote Republican or Democratic or might not vote at all.

This is exactly how liberals message and it’s a problem. This does not speak to the moderate on the margins in PA, Wisconsin and Michigan. Way too much, language not targeting emotions & issues that undercut high motivating messaging for lower-info moderates. We must get out of our own way.
