the stairs as redesigned by the deetzes, but restored to mostly the maitlands, I suppose, but still keeping MOST of the rustic styling at least downstairs lol You ARE right that the wallpaper is not ENTIRELY the same as it was at the start of the movie.

yup that is a plot point! The study was kept rustic, Delia and Otho weirded it all up EXCEPT the study and the attic, the latter only because they could not get in. Charles demanded the study to be kept rustic, but he could not "switch off" his "city slicker" persona "goooooooooood parking"

oh no yeah delia is still doing the sculptures, she scares the shit out of Charles lmao which fucking *rude* but lol just that it is all couched in "back to normalcy". The "strange and unusual" is removed or assimilated. The "weird" is punished, or assimilated.
