the stairs as redesigned by the deetzes, but restored to mostly the maitlands, I suppose, but still keeping MOST of the rustic styling at least downstairs lol You ARE right that the wallpaper is not ENTIRELY the same as it was at the start of the movie.

I think they split it half and half, since they had no idea how long they'd be stuck with the ghosts, and those ghosts could demonstrably make their life hell..
