Please check me, are my expectations out of whack? I thought and put together a thoughtful gift for someone in my friends group who is leaving. Someone else picked it up in the shop for me. Now my friends group gave it to the person who is leaving without consulting me, and without me there?

Can't imagine doing that unless a. compelling urgency/logistics reasons (thinking hard here: possibly someone else only available that one time, creating a dilemma?) b. lines of communication so messed up that they actually didn't realize you put the gift together. If neither a nor b, someone f'd up

it was meant as a group gift, with pictures of all of us, to be clear. But to give it without me when i did the initiation and the execution, on someone else's bday party, without discussing it with me, nor with me there, when there is another party next week, does not feel great
