Every other industrialized nation on earth does their general elections in that span of time. A new candidate would inherent the machinery of the DNC and benefit from the novelty effect of being a shiny new thing. It’s do-able.

Yes, but they have a parliamentary system, not the system we have. Totally different model. They are used to short campaigns, but Americans are not. Our system isn't set up for it, and US voters don't have the discipline to handle it.

But deciding to do the US election like every other nation now is calling it a bit late. There's no time for systems to adjust. The media will be lost and just scream Dems in Disarray until November.
