Google’s emissions are up 48% in 5 years. Microsoft’s are up 30% since 2020. Those soaring figures are being driven by mass investments in data centers to power AI tools.
Generative AI is a climate disaster and data center expansion must be stopped.

Posting ads from the Dick Williams studio in HFR 720p this whole month and don't worry, that doesn't mean I'm turning his studio's animation's beautiful fluidity into godawful fake fluidity

I especially can't stand seeing this Hyundai advert that uses AI-generated generic kids movie posters that seemingly nobody involved observed closely or questioned, another reason why animators deserve protections against AI

One thing I did enjoy about The Imaginary's English dub was Kal Penn as that cat, particularly when he keeps going "keep going, young man!"

Obviously Studio Ponoc had to strike that deal with Netflix because The Imaginary flopped in domestic theatres, the thing is though that GKIDS would do so much better at giving their slate exposure and adequate distribution than Netflix is currently doing. They're even better at dubs than Netflix!

Showcase didn’t list this under pre-bookings and so the screen was empty! When it shouldn’t be!

Kill shows that the goriest martial arts can be greatly improved with some emotional vulnerability. When it finally unleashes the beast after a goofy first act, it truly snaps, balancing ruthlessness with bittersweet pathos all while being the most gruesome train thriller you’ve probably ever seen.

Every time I see that Sky Vegas advert (iykyk) or the new Samsung ad that promises that AI is your friend I think about how right Finlay Christie was about British adverts nowadays

I love a good hand-drawn sequence and the animated prologue to this film is the wildest, coolest part of this, flashing forward through centuries of atrocity leading up to this film’s events. Shouldn’t expect any less from India, but I couldn’t believe this actually opened a modern space opera.

Kalki 2898 AD begs the question that has been on everyone’s minds, “what if Dune was a direct consequence of the rise in Earth fascism and also had a robot parrot and a god fighting Prabhas in a mech suit?” The answer, while not without sluggish pacing or ugly CGI, is just as deranged as it sounds.
