The best part of Star Trek Online's side stuff is when you have a Rok-Tahk duty officer. Specifically, whenever I have a mission to raise some cute and cuddly pet creature (Risian Feather Monkey, Eppoh, what have you), I can picture her squealing when she's the recommended Doff for the mission.
