I wasn't expecting the first longform review of The Minneapolis Reckoning to pop up on Reason, of all places, but here were are! It's a fair shake, though I think the book has implications far beyond MN.

Thanks for your work on this. In Falcon Heights we had to do a lot of legwork in the wake of Philando Castile’s killing & have faced institutional obstructionism for years, but at least our community & elected representatives have been all on the same page.

The book definitely has implications far beyond MN. Saying "bellwether" isn't an over claim. You look at evidence and make astute comparisons. It's a case study and these often reveal trends, obvs. In this review, he sounds a little weary. That may be part of his "voice." But it's a him thing.
