I wasn't expecting the first longform review of The Minneapolis Reckoning to pop up on Reason, of all places, but here were are! It's a fair shake, though I think the book has implications far beyond MN.
Thanks for your work on this. In Falcon Heights we had to do a lot of legwork in the wake of Philando Castile’s killing & have faced institutional obstructionism for years, but at least our community & elected representatives have been all on the same page.

Saying "bellwether" isn't an over claim. You look at evidence and make astute comparisons. It's a case study and these often reveal trends, obvs.
In this review, he sounds a little weary. That may be part of his "voice." But it's a him thing.
