My friend and colleague Ken White has written a great thread describing some (but far from all) of the enormous problems with today's decision by Chief Justice Roberts granting Donald Trump criminal immunity on grounds never before accepted by any court. Today's decision threatens the Republic.

And this is why Biden now must, in order to fulfil his oath, do whatever is necessary to prevent the election of Trump. It's terrible, but Trump is an existential threat. Biden has authority and immunity, let him use them, then let the country demand the rules be changed.

And it's the most severe threat even if Biden wins, because Republicans only need one more election to turn the country into a dictatorship with the new decision.

If I was Biden, the moment Roberts finished his ruling, I would have immediately signed an executive order calling for thr arrests of the 6 conservative of the court. Shocked pikachu-faces all around. Make them regret it.

Biden could declare the election off. No election. Is that dangerous? Fuck yes. Should he do it? I'm not convinced the answer is a hard no.
