Saw my first Cybertruck in the wild, they look even more ridiculous in person. I cant escape that they look like they were drawn by a 10 year old in the 70s with the brief of "What will cars look like in 50 years" .

There is a school across the street from me and people go there to set fireworks off on the playing field. They do not know I have to work in the morning and own swords. Luckily it pissed it down most of the day including starting around 10 so it was relatively quiet

UK politics can be grim, but election night there with constituencies being largely ungerrymandered, losers standing next to winners of podiums, and the "election season is 6 weeks, not 2 years" default is incredibly wholesome

one thing i tell all knew students and especially the ones in the Singlestick/Saber class i teach is dont try and fence with your arms, shoulders and back. you need to fence with you hands, feet and head.

I help organize Icebreaker in Minneapolis . We have a watch list of people who have hit too hard in the past and make sure our Judging staff pay special attention to them . We haven't had to black card anyone yet but handed out some other cards.

You see I'm in the twin cities so a moose wandering around the place isn't totally out of the question. However in this I case I believe either someone has a pet moose that's escaped Someone has no idea what a deer is or how big a horse is OR they are tripping on some really good shit

Non traditional academic classes, like Art and Music and such also help with other classes as they encourage creative and critical thinking most traditional academic classes dont. What too many schools are creating now are robots not thinkers

I've found no single saber system has everything . The school I teach at teaches shoulder elbow and wrist cuts for military saber . You use whichever one you need to depending on the distance you are at .

We also have to consider that much of what we believe to be the Polish system of fencing is largely supposition given a lack at historical sources. A lot of it come from Marsdens books. Having met Marsden while he is a fine fencer his work on the polish system is largely reconstructed guess work

It also ignores the fact that MPD was never defunded. Aside from a brief dip in the budget during the Covid years they have had year on year increases in funding. Also there crime prevention and crime solved statistics are awful
