I've been told that facing your feelings (acknowledging your suffering and pain) is sometimes a Good Thing, but it honestly it feels like shit and I don't think it's worth it
I think they meant self compassion as opposed to thinking about everything you've been through, which is a horrible idea. I try to avoid the latter myself
the funny thing is that the fastest way to get rid of suffering and bad pain feelings is to just feel them and get them out so you can move on
refusing to face them just keeps them there forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and you'd think folk might not like that even more
