Common sense 101 and OMB £u-king guidance says you cannot retroactivity apply new guidance to grants awarded prior to new guidance. And same state issued a nastygram letter saying I must complete my grant by fall of this year. Can't wait to request an extension, citing their own f#$kups.

Always had a dim view of Buy America Act (BAA) requirements & somehow, it became dimmer today. BAA became more stringent in 2021 & as a result, state and feds decided to include new language in new BAA contract. Except my sole supplier can't meet that new requirement. & my grant was awarded b4 2021

Saw that for the first time last week! Last time I went to the Strong museum, I missed an exit and circled around. Highway was loud as we walked in. This time, my kid got to play outside, 200' from the ex-hwy, and it wss pleasant and quiet.

From what I recall, they could have restored one segment fairly quickly but it would have washed out a year later. The new design does seem to fix a lot of issues and prevent this from happening again. And heck they even got a grant to build a better bridge but grant funding slows down projects

I certainly have my frustrations with city staff. That being said, Jack Broward came to BPAC last week to talk about this project and it clear how much he cares about restoring trail and he was also extremely frustrated how long things have taken.

Absolutely! In the past, I found staff extremely reluctant to remove parking for bike lanes. Met with former T&ES director on Commonwealth and he refused to remove half of the spaces despite a study and support from a church. A few years later, DASH removed a bunch of spaces for ADA compliance
