Desktops and laptops need maintenance, similar to a car. We maintain once every 6 months.

I take compressed air to the innards... I don't keep a firm schedule so I'm not sure how often I do it, but I keep the can handy and just spray it out when I am waiting for something. But I don't do a whole lot more than that. Maybe I should wash all the innards with soap and water :)
