I have a coworker who has a little dog that constantly has seizures. Even under the care of several vets over the past 3 years, poor lil dog succumbed to her illness and passed away a few days ago. My coworker is devastated and hasn't been able to come to work.

Power supply could have overloaded, or a light surge or brownout could cause that. Disconnecting from wall for a while and reenergizing will straighten that out, if those were the cause. If it is 7 years old and in constant use and never having physical maintenance, c ould be clogged with dust.

Did work force you to update, or did MS force you? If it's the latter, you can roll back for 10 days after the upgrade and then block 11 from installing again.

Next year, when 10 sunsets in Oct 2025, it will have been out 10 years. Approximately the same timeframe as previous releases. A little published fact is they will let you use 10 longer, if you are willing to pay for extended support, buying you til 2028, when it is gone for good.

This is standard operating procedure for MS. If you let them, and you use a browser other than edge, they will also steal that browser's content, transfer to edge and then upload all your browsing info into the cloud. You know, as a favor.

Instead of using the media creation tool to install windows, use it to create an ISO ( WIN 10 ), or just download ISO for WIN 11 directly ( there's a direct link on MS's site ), then download Rufus to create an external install drive ( can be flash drive or external SSD ) and using Rufus, you can

I don't know how anyone can defend Microsoft. You can clearly see where their priorities are for one, and for two, I've had to help people with Microsoft miseries since 1986, nothing has changed. This is standard operating procedure for Microsoft. Their priorities have always been in the wrong place
