I wonder if anyone's written a story about the sociological fallout from major cities and historical landmarks getting pulverized by kaiju every couple years. I feel like it would fundamentally alter people in so many ways.

Yeah, I mean, the rote demolishing of historical sites in this movie looks pretty but it's completely without consequence. Just window dressing.

I also really wish directors would relearn how to make action sequences that make a difference to the story instead of just filling space with noise and explosions because it's been ten minutes

Watching GODZILLA X KONG and the abject laziness of this movie almost offends me. All this money and all they can do is weary by-the-numbers retreads of bits from other, better movies of its kind

People love to talk about Mathilda May in this movie and rightly so, but the lengthy close-up on this zombie's gyrating crotch is memorable for entirely different reasons

Yeah totally! Very of its time but I think it's one of the stronger solo projects to come out of the TD crew.

A damn, I recommended the wrong Haslinger album. WORLD WITHOUT RULES is good enough, but SCORE is the one I was thinking of and is much better.

And finally I think this Schmoelling track would be extremely your shit (just a hunch). Starts slow but the buildup is succulent.

For Haslinger, seek out WORLD WITHOUT RULES. It's a little dated now conceptually but it has a fun range of sounds.
For Froese, maybe PINNACLES. All his solo stuff is kinda milquetoast though.
I think PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY is Franke's only non-ST album, and it's awright.

It was really interesting to see what the various members of TD, like Froese, Franke, and Haslinger all did in their solo work. You could sort of intimate what they brought to the group. I'm only sorry Johannes Schmoelling never seemed to have much of a solo career.
