They really are! I happened to find one in his wandering stage a couple years ago and overwintered him 😁 loved seeing him emerge in the spring!

I'd wondered about that! Shame to waste them. I think I've seen most of the old skins before this, though. These are Promethea Silkmoths! That's so cool! In what capacity are you working with then? Do they also have the cartoon snake eyes like Tiger and Spicebush Swallowtails?

The two little guys (top two) molted to 4th instar today. I'm pretty sure the rest are 5th now, but if so I must've missed the discarded skins. Their zaftig, sausagelike physique says 5th to me, but this is the first time I'm doing this, so 🤷‍♀️
