It's complicated. They have all of this weird speaking mechanism designed to, according to them, work around the laws, like some sorts of various magic spells you can shout and unlock God mode of the laws or something. It goes with capitalization of names and stuff.

If I'm being honest, I just became president of our HOA (long story), and I've been using LLMs to parse the HOA's CC&R, asking natural language questions about it, like "do we allow satellite dishes?" and then spend even more time double checking its answers because it hallucinates 50% of the time.

It doesn't. GPTs aren't deterministic by nature. Sometimes it will run code, sometimes it'll lie about having running it.

Donc perso, je suis correctement inscrit sur les listes électorales, j'ai pas reçu mon identifiant par mail, j'ai pas reçu mon mot de passe par SMS, et quand j'essaye de les récupérer quand même en utilisant mon NUMIC, beh ça marche pas, et ils ne me répondent pas quand j'essaye de les contacter.

Ooooh, interesting. I can indeed see this being different between governmental organizations like schools and just local groups of people like neighbor's groups or the local book club. I don't have kids, so I'm not exposed to this particular aspect :-)

Is this true? Many of my own local Facebook groups are closed, because people just don't want to bear with randos snooping in, commenting, reacting, or even looking at pictures, with a kind of strict group admission policy along the lines of "prove you should be part of this group" kind of thing.

I have so many of these examples it's not even funny. These stochastic parrots aren't capable of reasoning, even much less intelligence. We've done a really bad disservice to the world using the words "artificial intelligence" to describe these gadgets.

The worst part about the litter box thing is there's a kernel of truth to it: some classroom stocked up on bags of cat litter, but only because it's a cheap and easy method to barricade a classroom door in case of an active shooter situation.

As an aparte, I can't really patronize kickstarter anymore. Way too many sham projects on it, only existing to steal people's money, and kickstarter does exactly nothing to curb them.
