Meet the Sit-uppies! An adaptation of the Shoulder Pet pattern, Sit-uppies were especially designed for anthro-style upright characters. The pattern was carefully developed to use the base of their tail and their back legs to help them sit up.

Sleepyheads have a much larger pelt which allows for a lot more detail in markings than the Shoulder Pets! However, Sleepyheads are a strictly feral style, and we do not at this time offer any clothing or accessories.

Shoulder Pets also come to two alternate styles: XL are nearly twice the size of the Standard Shoulder Pets; Chonk are around the same length but nearly twice as wide, perfect for heavy-set characters!

Hand-sewing can be a specific, deliberate art form all its own. For example, consider the satisfying visual and tactile feeling of an even, perfectly spaced hand stitch, deliberately used as a design aspect. Quality depends on the care you put into it, much more than the method and tools you use.

I admire & enjoy the work of many plush makers, many of whom have become my friends over time. Art is never rivalry, unless you mean in the "our skills inspire each other to strive higher" healthy way. Art of all forms is about selling an emotion. Your product is the format of that emotion.

But that's the result of nearly 15 years of offering the same product on the same shop. when I started the shop, ko-fi and Shopify and more weren't even options. And I do this for my full-time job as opposed to a side hustle or a passion project.

For us, Etsy is 💯 where we are and want to stay, bc of the volume we sell and because of the ability to passively find new customers. Honestly, the power of patience, good customer service, and time can be proven just by googling "paopu fruit plush". last I checked, the top THREE results were us 😂

The fees are higher than at other shops, but the amount of traffic that Etsy can automatically drive to you simply by you having listings on it that are properly tagged with good pictures can ABSOLUTELY be worth that financial cost. Plus it has integrations with shipping and statistics services.

Always. There's no such thing as too many plushies. Where to put your store largely depends on how you want to go about running it. Places like Ko-fi and Shopify have very low startup, or no fees, but you have to drive all the traffic yourself. Whereas, Etsy is basically Google for handmade.

SurDerg provides examples of many of the various skills and tricks needed to make our Shoulder Pet commissions as detailed as they are. Fleece and Minky, color matching, applique and top stitching, and even some hand sewing to make the horns look their best.
