Ok, Newsom works, too. Trump strategy: refuse to engage directly, mock whatever he says about them as childish. DO NOT DEBATE, it just gives him a platform from which to lie. Instead, refer to past lies and conclude it's not worth it.

It's been pointed out to me that, although I'm neutral on the subject, taking Kamala off the ticket is a -complete- non-starter for a significant portion of the base. Fair enough, I get and respect that 👍 So, can we make the same idea work with her? Draw fire and reframe the fight?

FWIW, my "racist, misogynist" hope was that Biden would step down halfway through his term, making Kamala the first woman, south-Asian/black president. I still think we'd be much better offoff now had that been the case Fuck me, right?

There's a difference between him stepping down as president and him stepping down as nominee. If he steps down as president, then it falls to her - no argument. If he steps down as nominee, we're in uncharted territory, with no explicit rules. Obvious choices, sure, but no actual rules.

Here's a "just spitballing" idea: swap Kamala out for Mayor Pete. I don't really see her as an asset, particularly. She's not a -liability-, mind you, just... neutral. It would put the spotlight on him, without changing the top of the ticket, and he can more than handle it

Fair enough. If there's a road to recovery for his candidacy, then that's what I want. It seems like a long shot at this point, though. His policies are sound, but he came off as very weak last night, and it's a tight race to begin with
