Just some Titans, coming together for a free and frank exchange of ideas (and perhaps some munitions). #Titanomachina

LLMs are useless for lawyering and other tasks involving actual analysis and understanding not because the technology hasn't gotten there yet, but because that's fundamentally not what statistical word association is capable of doing. Not only can't it understand, it's not even trying to understand.

The hypothetical being, of course, does going short on habitat buildings present an omnipresent advantage over going long? If so, is it a problem for the game. And if it is a problem, what form would a solution take?

It's also somewhat easier to destroy opposing habitat blocks, but doing so does not affect your opponent's ability to reply. It's harder to score points attacking an opposing Titan directly, but damage to a Titan's systems can interrupt an opponent's strategy.

It makes one wonder why not just score buildings to whichever player destroyed them? Because that makes for some perverse incentives where players don't want to place buildings for fear of giving away victory points. Instead, scoring points by placing habitats is easier than destroying systems.

Additionally, and importantly, players most easily subtract their pool of spare habitats from 24 to know their current building score. It's easier than counting blocks on the board. That is not intuitive, and opaque scoring is a problem.

However, a Titan with more habitats will lose habitats more easily, and at a faster rate, than with fewer. At 24 their habitat score cannot go up. Their configuration, their specific arrangement of systems, should be at a disadvantage to one with a lower habitat score.

Here's a hypothetical, but first some context: Titanomachina Titans are built out of a pool of HR points, with the leftover going to purchase habitat blocks to put on the board. More points into the Titan mean fewer into habitats. Habitat blocks on the board score points. ATitan can have up to 24.

Ultraman: Rising really nailed the same things that gave Pacific Rim's action such a satisfying sense of scale. Also, UltraDad!

I mean, it's a fair point that I need a hook. The hook is supposed to be the Warhammer game loop, which is (a) design army/Titan, (b) get defeated in ways you never imagined were possible, and then (c) go to a. The demo games lack this and need a different hook.

Titanomachina is a strategy wargame for 2-4 players. Card-driven deterministic action for ~120 minutes. Link in profile #Titanomachina

The comment by David Kennedy is bizarre given the entire review seems to be about unpacking what the asshole in the title might mean thematically, mechanically, and socially. It's a heck of a hook!

It was written and released as comics before it was collected as a graphic novel. Each comic has a slightly difference theme. My favourite is 'Fearful Symmetry'

Usually a Titan has four limbs, so they can walk each round if they spread their limbs evenly throughout the the deck. Some Titans only have two limbs, while others have six limbs. Likewise Titans have between two and four weapons systems, so every shot is critical.

Players play system cards face-up to drive their Titan's actions, starting with a hand of 8 cards and then drawing 5 cards at the end of the round. At 23 cards a deck each player completes a rotation through their deck every 4 rounds.

Rhea carries it off with 19 VPs, to Eos' 16 VPs with Styxx at 15 VPs; it had been an ambush turned into a chase, with Rhea third in line and peeling off to detect more yellow buildings before blue and green could turn around and level them!

I should really talk more about deck arrangements, because that is really important in Titanomachina. Each player has a deck of cards, systems, crew, and a personality, that they'll use to pilot their Titan to victory.
