It's a double edged sword. You include COVID, you get "why is the comic woke?" Neglect to include COVID, you get "why is the comic not realistic?" I started Heart April 2020 and it wasnt the time or place to be including the global pandemic when Im setting the stage for an entire universe revamp.

I babbled about this earlier but when I think of who is significantly “complicit in harm” regarding The Uncertain Times, the funny papers do not even crack the top 50000.

I found I appreciated equally the media that acknowledged the pandemic and the media that didn't It was "nice" to see it acknowledged, but because we were all so stressed, it was also good to have no mention of it in my stories

I had journalists ask me where COVID was in the comic and I'm like "were living it???". And there were plenty of other cartoonist making work including COVID. But I guess non superhero comics don't count??? Idk, it all feels like revisionist history and putting the blame in the wrong place.
