Antique tractor parade at my house! Okay, so it's a *toy* antique tractor and it's the only one here, but it's the spirit that counts. Happy Independence Day everybody!

Picked far too many cherries today. All pitted using a pitter I got at Goodwill for $7.00. A solid afternoon’s work to get 20 lbs of cherries pitted. 6 lbs went to making cherry brandy, the rest were frozen. I’m tired!

It’s raspberry season and I’ve picked 12 pounds to replenish the strategic seedless raspberry puree reserve here. It’ll be used to make jam throughout the year but especially to give at Christmas #makeityourself

Sea boot stocking 1.4: finished the 6” of ribbing, now onto the leg. Using a purl stitch to create a “seam” for keeping track of the (eventual) decreases is a traditional technique that won’t survive much beyond WWII, when this pattern was published. #knitting

Sunday evening activity: analyzing the draft for a fabric pattern published in 1792. The draft is a schematic of the fabric showing the warp threads (blue) and weft threads (pink) The fabric is called Ducape, usually a silk fabric, though probably cotton in this case. #handweaving
