Please cite your source regarding the thing that did not occur. Polls of names before any campaigning occurs are not persuasive for me. We would be in better shape if Biden had, in fact, emerged from a hard fought campaign as a victor. It would be hard to then argue he's not capable of campaigning.

I am persuaded that Biden would be a better president than Trump based on his experience being a better president than Trump. Campaign skills are less relevant in my opinion than whether he can actually do the job.
