I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

Alright, I'm randomly proud of the fact that after, IDK, 30-odd years, I built something out of LEGO. Now fingers crossed the cats don't chew on it and it can sit on a shelf for a bit before I decide to disassemble it to build the squirrel or fox. #pleaseclap

I'm going to guess SC gerrymandered the shit out of their state with the 1930 census to go from 64% black representation in 1928 to ~16% in 1932, but maybe something else happened, I don't know much about SC history.

I think there was a HAI video kind of recently about a town in Michigan that buried itself in sand in the 1800s because they logged the forest that was keeping the dunes stable. Went through the stages of how plants keep sand dunes together (from grass to shrubs to trees). It was interesting.

I don't know how easy this would be for you, but my advice is call again/go in person to the water department. My experience w/a leak was in the US & a small town, but I think we just had to prove we'd had it fixed and they lowered the crazy high bill to something more reasonable. 😬 4 more stress

I went with 5 just in case this hypothetical legislation also applied to the "small mom-and-pop" landlords that they like to blame for taking up all the real estate instead (b/c I don't have a problem with a couple as an extra source of income), but I agree, it might be overly generous.

I suspect they won't because I'm pessimistic, but I really wish they'd put a cap on the number (like 5) of single-family affordable homes private equity firms can snap up in any one market, so maybe actual real people looking to buy a house could do so without them driving up prices.

I've literally never had a cat that was so good at being mindful of their claws as he is. Guess he was better socialized as a kitten with his siblings than my other rescues. He's also super funny, even if the amount he wants to play (almost all the time) drives me nuts sometimes.

This cat is nicknamed Gentle Baby because he's very very good at not using his claws when he plays. *Definitely* would not trust his asshole Siamese chonk older brother with bare feet. Hope whoever you're visiting escapes the hospital in a timely fashion.

I feel your pain, I made the mistake of using my (very common) middle name along with my first and last initials for Gmail and I definitely don't need person A's Spanish-language tax emails from Florida or person B's Best Buy in store pickup purchase emails.

Fair. She did some testing about differences in resting cookies vs not, etc when it came to the same recipe (I think she did like 22 batches of cookies?) and I thought it was informative. I can try to find the link if you want it, but I'm *pretty* sure it's just her most recent YT video.

Ann Reardon of How to Cook That recently did a youtube video that had some cookie debunking that you might find useful. Like, if it doesn't match the pictures it might be because they used stock photos for their images instead of hiring a food photographer because food pictures are hard.
