Gin is certainly the alcohol I never developed a liking for. Those were some baaad reactions back in my 20s. Quinine use now is very heavily discouraged by most food/drug approval agencies globally. Still used for Malaria afaik but closely monitored.

There's also a point too where trauma can render someone truly a risk to others. And at some point that might need to be addressed, the person experiencing the trauma removed from the situation so as to not cause harm to others. It's a hard thing to assess and figure appropriate action on. 🫤

Absolutely. Trauma has a huge impact on how people act and react. What they might normally brush off and not be phased by, might be devastating under different circumstances. We need to be aware of that and take it into account, give them a break and don't judge so harshly.

If I start feeling really ANGRY about a situation, I'll go for a walk and cool my jets first anyways. Take time, think it over, ask whether it's really THAT huge an issue in the grand scheme of things, because often, it's not. I prefer resolution anyways and it goes better if the anger fades a bit.

Eat that anger for the time being and be there to support the person as much as they need. Time might diffuse the anger anyways as often times we tend to have too much of a knee-jerk reaction anyways. But the person undergoing the hardship absolutely needs that support to help fight that battle.

Every now and then you simply have to let yourself feel the pain and get it out. Don't keep it bottled up because that's exactly what can destroy you. Reach out to those closest and get support, don't try to do it alone. Let others in to help make sure you come out of it ok.
