Teen nephew and some friends discovered a table tennis club at local community centre and decided to go along. Turned up to find it full of senior Asian players who absolutely smashed them in doubles! Seniors decided to teach them top tips, they had a blast and want to make it regular-gorgeous! 🥰

Former colleague sent a screenshot of a Teams chat 💬 that now says “Paola left the chat” and a sad 😢
I replied that I didn’t leave the chat, I was evicted!!! 😂 Following my redundancy I guess the system is booting me off!

In Six Nations rugby they encourage showing respect to the kicker, pretty sure the Irish are particularly good at shushing 🤫 the crowd for the kick. The Dunedin crowd booing the kicker is rude and embarrassing 😳 Enough! #NZLvENG

Ok, I like cats however I’m allergic to them. The neighbourhood cats 🐈⬛ seem to congregate in our garden, and scrap with each other (always in the middle of the night) so I want to discourage them visiting! Any tips of things that would put them off hanging around our place?

A total ban is the only sane policy for Airbnb. There obviously needs to be accommodation in cities for visitors, but that shouldn’t be at the expense of housing units for people who actually live there. More governments should follow Barcelona’s lead.

Just when I thought the weather couldn’t be more feral it steps up a notch! What a welcome home! Oh, this and the living room ceiling having collapsed while we were away due to a roof leak! Great end to our holiday,…oh, and we are both sick! 🤢😐😂

We spent 15 nights in southern Italy and 25 nights in Scotland and can confirm both to be more expensive than we have experienced in previous visits, so cost of living increases are affecting them too, it’s not just an NZ thing.

So this ends up around $58 NZD for #scapegracegin in Waitrose (not a cheap supermarket in UK) that includes 20% VAT, when it’s roughly $75 NZD in NZ!!!?!??? Grinds my gears!

At the Johnnie Walker experience some US tourists walked past saying “it’s an ok view”. This was the view, Edinburgh Castle, one of the oldest fortified places in Europe and origins back to the Iron Age! 😂 #Edinburgh

“Discretionary service fee of 12.5% will be added” or words similar seem to be EVERYwhere, even a wee cafe, in Scotland. Don’t remember it being so widespread last time I was home. Chatting with friends it seems people don’t tip as much now as there’s the service fee.

This so depressing. I applied for a job a few weeks ago to do 10hrs a week on minimum wage in retail and the employer said they got over 500 applications in 5 days.

Finally visited Rosslyn Chapel today, it’s been on my to do list for years. It’s an intricately carved wee chapel built in 1446, but was made famous as it was featured in The Da Vinci Code movie. It’s beautiful but no pics inside allowed, so can’t share. Outside isn’t shabby tho

I saw this and cracked up on the bus! However I’m now in Edinburgh, where all the buses are double deckers, and if you aren’t at the door for the stop you want the driver doesn’t stop, so you’ve to slide down those lava steps regardless!!!! 😂

I do love our coffee machine, but while in Italy I’ve enjoyed the process of making coffee in a moka pot, particularly on a gas stove.
…Although this pot is cute, it’s completely impractical as the handle gets hot and the lid wants to come off! So regular moka for the win!

Impressed by recycling ♻️ in Italy. This is the set up in the apartment we are renting, and at the trullo they had all the options too. Don’t know enough about what happens to it all, and certainly there’s still a LOT of plastic behind used particularly for drinking water.

When you’re wandering around an ancient town in southern Italy, Matera, one of the oldest continuously-inhabited settlement in history, and think ‘hang on, I know that man!’ then you realise it’s Steve Hansen and it looks like he’s with Robbie Deans, so you don’t know them, but you know who they are

Arrived at accommodation in Puglia to find it well styled, well thought out and comfortable! Has a fabulous laundry too, and Italians take laundry seriously so finally figured out that’s where I get it from (my Mum is Italian!). The heat has required much frequent laundry 🧺🥵
