So, am I right that the UK doesn't seem to do updated tallies for each seat while they're counting? Lots of "Labour think they've won x" and "Lib Dems confident they've taken y" but no official "as of just now here's who's ahead" info? No virtual tally room?
Where's the fun in that?
That should be so much EASIER with FPTP! I know we have 150 seats to their 650 (and our Senate votes literally take weeks to get a final result), but even with preferential voting the ABC can give us get a pretty decent Two Party Preferred projection for most seats three hours after polls close.
I wonder how electoral reportage works in Indonesia, where they have simultaneous elections - presidential, vice presidential, district, People's Consultative Assembly (2 houses), and local government legislatures at the provincial & city levels, across 17000 islands - all on the same day. (Phew!)
