I like how VW's comments (yellow highlight below) is just like "yeah, this is just to show we're innovative, it's not actually something anyone wants". Perfect summary of the AI space.

A bunch of OEMs that use Cerence have started rolling this out. Annoyingly, Cerence’s voice recognition/NLP is extremely good, enough to use it instead of a touchscreen IME. (MBUX, iDrive 8 onwards, and the infotainment that’s about to show up in the new electric Audis and Porsches, some others too)
