...I can see a fad for those Japanese costumes where you dress up as something from every day life, like Guy Who Spilled Coffee on His Shirt or Woman Coming Home From the Grocery Store. Costumes, but without villain flair.

There are some local twists, though, like covering yourself in glitter and pretending to be a victim of a Poison Ivy pollen attack. Henchman Beat Up by Batman is also popular (just add a fake cast and bruise makeup!)
