Not sure this is a great idea for the rhinos. It could cause harm that we don't recognize yet. If they can dose enough rhinos to make it too hard to find those that haven't been treated, maybe they could stop more rhinos being killed.

Apparently the group below — they don't seem to be connected? — has already been injecting rhino horns with pink dye, DNA tracing markers, and what sounds like heavy doses of an anti-parasite medication poisonous to humans, to discourage trafficking. The technique seems quite ingenious:
