I would be okay with felons being enfranchised again. Because I'm also against the idea that making a drug possession charge stick should disenfranchise someone, nor bar them from holding public office. We've already got a law barring insurrectionists and traitors from doing so. 1/2

I would have used that classic turn of phrase, but I was short on characters and wanted to emphasize exactly what it meant. There's that tough guy attitude that "some pussy stubbed their toe and now I gotta buy expensive boots." No, somebody got their toe sliced off and the machine didn't notice.

In my head, there was a kind of parallel to the actual fires burning in the forest and the fires of revolution, but my muse failed me. Something about how most people don't actually care about environmentalism or conservation AT ALL until the grocery shelves are actually bare.

As long as *most* people can scrounge *enough* bread and water to prevent actual starvation, the fires of revolution will not ignite. Revolutions kill a LOT of people, so the *immediate* forecast has to be a LOT worse than an open warzone before folks will start guillotining the government.

Can't blame this one on Generational ANYTHING. The opposition to OSHA has always come from two places: the the foremen who preferred expending workers rather than purchasing ladders and PPE, and the uneducated who were taught that the regulators are somehow harmful to the common worker.

People act like OSHA is this gang of fun-haters who make up stupid rules to make their jobs annoying. Literally every single regulation OSHA has ever written was in response to someone getting maimed; usually killed, but sometimes merely losing a limb or two. Occasionally breathing corrosive gas.
