Yep. I am not saying she is the perfect candidate in the abstract, just that she is the most likely and legitimate alternative, and has some real strengths that could lead to unexpected upside in this particular race.

I think you're spot on there. I also think anyone wondering why Biden didn't step aside earlier has missed reporting on some of her prior stumbles. At the same time, anyone imagining anyone pushing her aside is not being realistic or acknowledging her strengths.
