Unpopular fact: Most people who claim to want a viable 3rd party aren’t willing to put in any of the work at the local level to actually build a viable 3rd party from the grassroots up. Voting for a random presidential candidate once every four years isn’t going to do anything.

Yes AND the critical part is that good progressive people who are Democrats and in power must take the lead on electoral reform which creates the space for viable alternatives to emerge. With our current zero-sum game electoral system the only job is to say "they are bad." Top two primaries? Nope.

My first question whenever someone talks about wanting more options so they go third party is what they plan to do about the electoral college. Then I ask them who they're running for city council and school board. Then I ignore them because they can't answer either question (unless they're WFP)
