Also, let's say Biden wins in November. What's next, CONCRETELY?
Do folks think that the Right is just going to keep it moving, accept defeat, etc...?
And what actual policies are Democrats prepared to go to the mattresses over in the first 1 year? What will they actually DO?
If the Dems did stuff like the rethugs, they would eliminate the electoral college, regulate congressional districts, expand the Supreme Court, impeach Thomas and Alito, and formalize reproductive rights But Dems are cowards.
1. I don't think the far-right in this country has the numbers to get into a civil war. If they truly had them, they'd have done it by now, successfully. Jan 6 was pathetic. Trump leads losers.
2. Rs will use the SC to undermine the election. They'll tie up everything.
3. Ds will watch.
Exactly! Even when the orange guy exits this mortal coil, all of tht doesnt just go away. There are torch bearers waiting in the wings to further implement fascism.
Things don’t reset to good Republicans (there aren’t/never were) once he’s gone.
This is going to keep going long after we’re gone.
if they don't take the opportunity to get rid of the filibuster and put an end to blue slips, they would just be displaying for all to see that they are not serious about governing.
I think we'll hear a collective sigh from the folks whose only concern is keeping Trump out of office, followed by a gasp as they realize that the Right isn't going to accept the results if they lose.
There's a great chance the Right will try to throw out votes (and entire state counts) on bogus procedural grounds, in hopes of tossing the count into the House so it can vote for Trump on a state-by-state basis. This is regardless of actual votes or Electoral College votes.
They will use violence.
