Politicians treat the Supreme Court the way they treat cops which is to say that they fund them, seem afraid of them, demand no accountability and allow them to act with complete impunity. Instead of disempowering them, it's some commissions, reports and shrugs.

I honestly believe that the last thing any of the elected politicians want is for us to start solving our own problems. Which is why i stopped donating to campaigns and started putting mutual aid in the budget.

It's a simultaneous desire for and fear of absolute authority that's similar to a lot of the AI hype as well I think.
