They should stop making sequels that create a whole new game from scratch and just make game sized add ons for the first game. That way you can retroactively improve on the old game while adding a whole new story.
I miss Bethesda doing this. Like Todd can say they have a 10 year plan for Starfield support, but that doesn't mean much when it's taking a full year for the first DLC to even come out, and there being no official mod support.

Sort of what happened with Escape Velocity and how you could drop a file into the Plugins folder that turned it into a completely new game? And when the sequels came out, they were basically the same engine with new data files?
There's a vocal minority of people who'd get upset about this but I would love for that to be the norm. Heck, I feel like some AAA games used to be that way and it was fine back then.
Half-Life 2 and the Episodes come to mind.
