I grew up when women were getting more freedoms. I am concerned the generations after me are complacent in thinking they can't lose their freedoms.
Would be interesting to ask a set of around 10 questions to Gen Z and millennials-what year could women.... get a credit card, get a loan, etc.

After months of waiting, and extending their term, the MAGAt Majority announces their decision that “it’s not illegal if a Republican does it,” and they and their allies want to pretend that nothing has changed.

“When the Supreme Court shredded the rule of law on behalf of a man who tried to overturn democracy, Chief Justice John Roberts and the gang told another judge to figure out whether inciting an insurrection on Jan. 6 to upend an election is part of a president’s official duties.”

“A Supreme Court that had just declared it a crime to be poor and homeless ruled that Donald Trump, previously and perhaps soon once again the world’s most powerful man, cannot be prosecuted for anything that a president’s lawyer (or conservative jurist) might spin as an “official act.”

Imagine if instead of the Declaration of Independence a “finding” had been issued that anything associated with King George’s “official duties” was A-okay and his motives couldn’t even be questioned.
The MAGAt Court sounds eager for a coronation.

I think if he was elected and took those steps resistance would be vital, but as Democrats we aren’t going to embrace violence except as a direct defense.

If people who wouldn’t simply vote in 2016 thought that “once it got bad enough” Democrats would join them in acts of terrorism, they badly miscalculated.
That’s not what we’re about at all.

MAGAts want to pretend that President Biden was responsible for those checks—which Donald bizarrely insisted upon signing himself.
My question is, why would Trump do that?

As a former longtime subscriber I find it interesting that some are so reluctant to cut ties with what now amounts to more right-wing propaganda than news.
Besides, even as a non-subscriber, that content is harder to avoid than to access.

Good Morning Blue Friends ☀️☕️
Happy Saturday to you!!
I’m still voting for Joe. His numbers run higher against Trump than any others that have been suggested to run.
We cannot allow Convict Trump back into the WH. He will destroy us. I’m not exaggerating either.

I left long ago but growing numbers are now finding the Times more unavoidable than indispensable.

I subscribed to the Post literally from Watergate until Trump.
Half a dozen corporations own and control almost all of our professional media, so most editorial range is illusory.
Even newsletters often just regurgitate reporting from bigger media outlets.
I won’t pay to read propaganda.

Critics said President Biden’s climate plan would kill jobs. They were wrong. Biden is protecting the environment and overseeing a boom in American manufacturing.

Having some pan President Biden’s debate performance could end up being a blessing in disguise.
Rather than give the spotlight to the would-be fascist dictator, the president should now get more attention for his policy, plans, and performances.

I would support resuming these complimentary briefings once Aileen Cannon has untangled the mess she made enough that we can begin to unravel the crimes Convicted Felon Trump committed when he had access to national secrets while betraying us from the Oval Office or since leaving.

Reading a transcript of the debate Thursday night points to a disparity between Trump’s volume (both in decibels and in quantity) versus President Biden’s substance.
Would you rather be represented by a thoughtful leader or by a cartoon?

Obviously, all media will become obsessed with understanding Democrats/supporters of President Biden, right?
Coverage will be nonstop and gushing.
Well, that would be the case if they were even remotely consistent, but I doubt it will be like that!

This looks a lot like him doing rallies.
But…that would mean the MAGAts are liars. Again.

If President Clinton was the “Comeback Kid” maybe Joe Biden is the “Comeback Grandpa?”

There may be exceptions, but those who are most eager for President Biden to step down are also among the most critical of Vice President Harris.
