I think the other aspect of this you didn’t touch on is that you have losers who are somewhat intelligent (or at least were told they were at a young age), clinging to their ability to do puzzles as proof that the squandered potential was there and to place blame on the world for their failed lives

I assume this is the LeapFrog Magic Adventures Globe? My 4yo son is awaiting an ASD diagnosis and while he has limited grasp of his words he’s intensely fixated on cartography, so we got him that one after he was able to name every street in Derry and describe the entire route to nursery from memory

Fallout 4 is quite bad at this now too. Emerge from the vault for the first time and before your eyes have even unblurred from the sunlight like 6 DLC quests pop up like “meet X at the workshop”, “kill X at his hideout”.

They don’t let you have just a local synced folder on your desktop do they? That’d let you leave your computer to copy everything out at once, then you could switch accounts, drag all the files into the new account’s folder, then leave your computer to sync it all back to Google for you

That was lovely to read. My son (4) has ASD and fixates on his favourite episodes to the point that it’s hard to get him to try a new one. Plus, his attention to any one thing never extends beyond 10 mins before he wants something different on. I never stood a chance with a 28 minute, brand new one

I’m bang on centre at 4 grind and even this produces so much coffee if I want a double I have to go: Single Remove the portafilter and shake flat Single Remove and tamp And even then I *still* have to shave some off with the razor

Yeah, if I go outside the light zone on double it’s literally grind city all over the drip tray. I can’t even lift the portafilter out of the hopper without the chute itself taking the peak off Mount Ground. Probably a property of the beans themselves, I guess?

Turns out I was right to worry. 5 months later, still haven’t gone back to it! I’m dying to. But I think it, and Talos 2, really need my full attention, and I’m in a phase where I’m juggling 2/3 titles at a time and getting through them nicely. I need a bit of a lull in releases.

But as the cash isn’t the same as shares it was a whole new arrangement that needed our agreement to get the deal over the line. Maybe it’s a failure of US employment law but it ended up being “the only way you don’t get what you’re due is if you leave for any reason OTHER than being made redundant”

Is that right about the shares that haven’t vested? We were acquired a year ago and (because the acquiring company is buying 100% of the shares), all the shares waiting to vest were cashed out, while any future planned grants were swapped for a cash equivalent that vests on the same schedule.

Max ate a pack of Jessie’s heart medication while we were out. But we didn’t know which dog it was, so we had to rush the two of them to an out of hours vet, then get Max to throw up, and thankfully it was him. He’s fine. Had it been Jessie it’d have been RIP
