For the curious, AJ is a nickname only used by a handful of family members and anyone who met me when I first came out 25 years ago. It felt appropriate to use here when I decided to...rebrand lol This space is personal. Not private, obviously, but a place to be me and not just my profession.

• The widow of my husband's cousin died. She was amazing. So was he. No better people. I grieve for their children and grandchildren. • My other German aunt with whom I had a great relationship died yesterday. It's been a long time coming, but it hit me hardest. So sehr ungerecht.

In the past two weeks: • I went to Florida to meet an aunt I didn't know I had and most of her family, too. It was awesome. • One of my German aunts I knew of but never met died. I mourn her loss and the grief my cousin is experiencing over the deathnof her mother.

As someone who is neurodivergent, I am often accused of "oversharing." I don't know what oversharing is. I share my life; if it's too much for you, that's on you, not me. 💁🏾‍♂️ So if you'd rather not be drawn in to the ups and downs of my existence, you can mute or unfollow me. Seriously, it's ok.
