Biden completely shunned them and they've dedicated every single bit of editorial space since to harming him. Also, they desperately want to hang a trophy on the wall with "we took down an incumbent president" on the plaque. They don't want to inform, they want to influence.

It's not even about Trump losing, it's just relitigating hurt feelings from the 2016, 2020, 2024 primaries. Their candidate finally gets to be the nominee and they can have that moment of "winning" they've been chasing all these years

yeah the "the supreme court gets to decide on whether or not something is official act" argument is moot given there is no real legal jeopardy for a President to basically declare the Supreme Court's interpretation of legal or illegal is null and void.

But what they did is kneecap themselves. There's no real legal incentive for a President to care about anything SCOTUS says if the only remedy is convincing 66 Senators to convict and remove.

The DNC corrupted the primary process, giving way for party elites to hand pick the nominee over popular consensus, which is why the least conflict avoidant method of choosing the 2024 nominee will be a couple hundred people voting at the Dem convention.

Roberts didn't address any of these issues from a legal pov only that that the dissenting opinions were extreme hypotheticals and that a president probably wouldn't engage in this behavior.

Also if we follow Roberts's logic that constant prosecutions of Presidents for carrying out official acts will throw the executive into chaos, so would prosecuting anyone with the capacity to carry out those acts

It may be obviously unlawful to the naked eye, but prosecutors won't be able to use the President's intent or communications within executive branch personnel as evidence at trial.

They're basically annihilating the entire concept of judicial review. "This action you're taking is unconstitutional, but there's no penalty for it if you do so, or for the people who knowingly carry out unconstitutional acts"
