Might seem like a big deal given that debate last week. Typically, there are three debates for Presidential nominees and one for their VP nominees. We don't know Trump's VP pick. Issues The two parties are diametrically opposed on key issues. A lot of pundits & whatnot claimed 2022 midterms were going to determined by the Dobbs; Pro-choice voters would vote in droves More people vote in the General Election. Trump is trying to moderate GOP positions. The GOP= nah! We bad.

He scares some or many of the Republican politicians. Too many grovel and act like they told Trump has blackmail material on them If a politician talks badly of him, they get a primary opponent with Trump's endorsement of that challenger. Only politicians with nothing to lose take him on.

One of the basic problems with that snippet is that candidates must be nominees and register in Ohio earlier than the DNC convention. So if there is no nominee before August 7th or 8th, no Ohio. So Whomever will only be on 49 ballots because Ohio is run by jerks. Maybe it is brought up elsewhere

It also gets political operatives hired while a lot end up hitting the road. There are power grabs at play if the party really wants to change horses in mid-stream. Think of those No Labels people trying to make themselves seem vital. It will be that times the number of potential replacements.

I mean, in short: Republicsns get worse and worse. But Democrats won't smack them down. The system is weighted for GOP to do both the crimes and the punishment. All FBI directors have been GOP, all the way back to Hoover. Special Counsels are usually GOP, too.

Part of the problem is not wanting to establish retribution precedents. Maybe it is more than that. But, by pushing the limits beyond what Presidents are supposed to do, post -Watergate, consequences set up the Pat Buchanan wet dream of payback for Nixon. Give the GOP an inch and they'll crime.
