Saw my first Cybertruck just now. It was in Riverton, Wyoming, which is the land of Ford, Chevy, and Dodge, so it was a little disorienting. (Sorry, but I failed to get a pic.)

YES! McCarthy is sitting there, looking like a perfectly handsome middle-age man (as defined by society) while Demi looks terrific but has had to work REALLY hard at it because society is so unforgiving of women. The extent to which race, class and gender didn’t matter to him was mind blowing.

I do not understand why this is not seen as a key text in Western American Literature. (I learned about it thru a Larry McMurty essay.) A colleague used it in her US history course, and the students loved it.

It was for me, too, but my doctor told me that I needed to start lifting — and I really wish I’d started sooner. Find a personal trainer you trust, and schedule a few visits with them. As you age, you want the healthiest bones you can have. Lifting weight does that.
